When the amount of blood that flows into your heart is reduced it could affect your heart function. This happens when there's a blockage in your coronary arteries. Myocardial ischemia (reduced blood flow to your heart) could reduce the amount of oxygen in your heart and that could make your heart beat irregular. This occurs when plaques or fatty build up covers your artery wall. This then makes it difficult for blood to flow into your heart. 2. Blood clot. When plaques rupture it could cause blood clot to occur in your heart. The blood clot could block your coronary arteries, thereby making it difficult for blood to flow in. 3. Coronary artery spasm. This occurs when the muscles in your heart contract, thereby making it difficult for blood to flow in. This causes a temporary reduction in blood flow. There are various symptoms you will notice when blood doesn't flow well to your heart. Below are them. 1. You could experience neck, jaw and shoulder pain. 2. Your heart will beat fast because there is insufficient amount of oxygen to enhance normal heartbeat. 3. Shortness of breath will occur due to low amount of oxygen. This happens mostly when you are performing different physical activities. 4. You will tend to sweat because your heart beat is not normalized. 5. You will get tired regularly and you will find it difficult to perform your activities.
